The 2025-2026 CCHS girls soccer season was filled with growth and resilience. From new players, to experienced seniors, the season showed how hard these girls worked every day. Head coach Amy Mullen looks back on the season with a lot of pride and optimism. With new players moving up and experienced players graduating, she recognized early that the season would bring both challenges and opportunities for growth. When asked how she feels going into next year's season, Amy said “I feel pretty good. I know the middle school had a great season and there are some girls coming up. As long as I have the same number coming up as going out we should be okay.” The team faced pressure from competing in such a decorated program, but Coach Mullen emphasized that focusing on the present allowed the group to succeed. When asked, how do you handle coaching such a decorated program, Coach Mullen said, “Each year is different, and you always know it is going to be different...you lose some, you win some. The most fun part is trying to fit the pieces together to do the best you can. I enjoy seeing the younger girls grow, and the freshman this year definitely did a great job.”The team battled through a tough schedule and low numbers of players, yet still put together an impressive season. When asked about the team's performance this season, Coach Mullen said “They did a fantastic job. Our record was 9-8-2 and based on our strength of schedule, that is a very impressive record. Looking at stats, we did a great job considering there were a lot of games where we only had 12 players.” Her reflection on the season shows the determination and effort her and the players put into every game. For senior Molly Weber, a three time First Team All State Athlete, the 2025-2026 season was the peak of years of dedication to soccer and CCHS. Looking back, she expressed gratitude for the people and experiences that shaped her soccer career. When asked, how she thought about playing her last season and how she thought that season went, she said “I wouldn’t want to play my last season of the game I love anywhere else. I loved playing for all of my coaches and they all helped me grow as a player and a person.” Though this season brought many challenges, what mattered the most to Molly were the relationships and memories that she made along the way. Molly says, “There were good days and bad days, but in the end, I formed relationships with people that I never thought I would have. Being a part of a team at CCHS for a sport that has been my life for 16 years has made me the person I am today.” Molly’s leadership and reliability helped the team throughout the season, and she left a major mark on the program. Junior Ella Green, a three time First Team All State Athlete, highlights the strong connections that shaped the team's success. When asked about the 2025-2026 season, Ella said “A lot of us are really close with one another, and I think this helped us connect and work well in games. I loved being able to play again with my best friends and get to spend time together. The team this year was such a good group to work with.” Ella felt proud of the growth that the team showed but was appreciative of the time that she got to spend with her teammates. The CCHS Girls Soccer team shows their dedication every year through success and growth. This year was no different with the team being able to grow and continue the legacy of what it truly means to be Irish. Great job this year, and good luck on the next ladies!
